Uppercase Letter Tracing A-Z — Answer Key
Part A: Fill in the Blank
Write the missing word or number on each line.
1. The letter T comes after S.
Saying the alphabet in order gives us S, T, U, so T is the letter that comes right after S.
2. The letter V comes before W.
Counting along the alphabet U, V, W, the letter that sits one spot before W is V.
3. Write the first letter of the alphabet: A
A is where the alphabet begins, so it is always the first letter we write or say.
4. The letter E comes between D and F.
Between D and F, only one letter fits, and the alphabet order D, E, F shows that letter is E.
5. The letter I comes after H.
Going through the alphabet H, I, J, the letter that comes immediately after H is I.
6. Write the letter that comes before N: M
Working backwards from N, the letter just before it in the alphabet is M (L, M, N).
7. The letter P comes between O and Q.
Between O and Q, the alphabet order O, P, Q tells us the missing letter is P.
8. The letter V comes after U.
After U in the alphabet comes V, so V is the next letter (T, U, V).
9. Write the letter that comes before Z: Y
Z is the last letter of the alphabet, and the letter sitting right before Z is Y (X, Y, Z).
Part B: Matching
Match each item on the left to the correct answer on the right.
1. Match each item to its correct answer.
A
→ 1st letter
1st letter
F
→ 6th letter
6th letter
K
→ 11th letter
11th letter
T
→ 20th letter
20th letter
Counting through the alphabet shows A is the 1st letter, F is the 6th, K is the 11th, and T is the 20th, so each letter pairs with its own position number.
