Part A: Fill in the Blank
Write the missing word or number on each line.
1. If you have 3 cats and get 2 more, you have 5 cats.
Start with 3 cats and count on 2 more: 4, 5. That gives 5 cats in all.
2. A hand has 5 fingers.
Look at one hand and count each finger: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. A hand has 5 fingers.
3. Count 4 birds and 4 dogs. That is 8 animals.
Putting 4 birds together with 4 dogs makes one bigger group, and 4 + 4 = 8 animals.
4. The number that comes after 6 is 7.
