Count & Represent Objects 1-10 — Answer Key
Part A: Fill in the Blank
Write the missing word or number on each line.
1. If you have 6 grapes and eat 1, you have 5 left.
Eating 1 grape from 6 takes one away, leaving 5 grapes behind.
2. A spider has 8 legs.
A spider has four legs on each side of its body, and 4 + 4 = 8 legs in all.

4. The number that comes after 9 is 10.
After 9 in the counting order comes 10, the next whole number you say.
5. Three birds and 4 fish make 7 animals.
Three birds and 4 fish are all animals, so adding gives 3 + 4 = 7 animals.

7. If you have 5 toys and get 1 more, you have 6.
Starting at 5 toys and getting 1 more brings you to 6 toys.
8. A group of 2 pens and 2 pencils is 4 items.
