Part A: Fill in the Missing Number
Write the missing number on each line.
1. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
When counting by 1s, the next number after 6 is 7.
2. The number between 6 and 8 is 7.
On the number line, 7 sits between 6 and 8.
3. 9 is 3 more than 6.
9 − 6 = 3, so 9 is 3 more than 6.
4. 4 is 3 less than 7.
7 − 4 = 3, so 4 is 3 less than 7.
5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
When counting by 1s, the next number after 2 is 3.
6. The number just after 9 is 10.
On the number line, the number that comes right after 9 is 10.

Part B: Matching
Match each clue on the left to the correct number on the right.
1. Draw a line to match.
A group of 8 stars
→ 8
5
A group of 3 cats
→ 3
10
A group of 5 flowers
→ 5
3
A group of 10 hearts

8
Each group matches the number that tells how many objects are in it: 8 stars = 8, 3 cats = 3, 5 flowers = 5, 10 hearts = 10.
